“‼️Palestine isn’t going anywhere and neither are we.‼️
This was true when we started our occupation camp – the day Germany was brought before the International Court of Justice for aiding and abetting the Israeli genocide in Gaza. This is even more true now that we have been violently and unjustly evicted.
Our protest was registered and peaceful. We complied with every racist, pointless, and unreasonable demand the police made of us. The fact that the occupation camp was still banned and evicted with extreme brutality shows that no amount of civility and abiding by the law will make Germany listen to those opposing its complicity in genocide (again).
In Germany, an encampment in protest of GENOCIDE was evicted because of flimsy and fabricated excuses. If the over 40,000 Palestinians murdered in Gaza were blades of grass – would Berlin politicians care then?
In face of the rapidly growing international uprising in solidarity with Palestine, our occupation camp was not banned because of violations on our side, instead it was an undemocratic political decision in line with the government’s losing battle to silence those who speak truth to power.
It doesn’t matter whether there was violence from the protesters. It doesn’t matter whether unjustly banned slogans were shouted. It doesn’t even matter that there were Jews amongst those most brutally beaten and arrested. What matters is that this country produces weapons that are used to murder, maim, and displace Palestinians in Gaza. What matters is stopping this. It is both our right and our duty.
The signs of Germany’s descent into authoritarianism are irrefutable. Basic freedoms are denied to those opposing the Staatsräson (reason of state) of profiting off of genocide and oppression worldwide. They are using legal excuses against us. Especially in Germany, we know that there is such a thing as unjust law, and it is our right and our duty to resist it. This country is completely twisting the notion of law as justice, so we shall ignore it.
We must bid farewell to the idea of protest only being legitimate when it is peaceful. We are not in a café, where we may discuss our opinions equally over a slice of cake and a cup of coffee. Those in power have made it abundantly clear that they do not care for the will of the people. Almost seven months of marches, court cases, and UN resolutions have not swayed Germany from its support of the Zionist genocide. Now more than ever, we must intensify the struggle.
We will escalate further for Gaza, for Palestine, for justice worldwide. This struggle is not an isolated cause but a global struggle for liberation against all forms of capitalism and colonization.
Organize where you are. Our encampment was made in a short time period with few resources by a small group of people. Let it be a tale: nothing more or less than determination is needed for impact. Follow a just cause and support will come.
Engage in civil disobedience. Strike. Boycott. Occupy.
We must end the war machine by any means necessary.
Rise up for the oppressed. Free Palestine.🇵🇸”
